Ten years ago I decided to go to Moscow. Russia was a country I had heard so much about, yet knew so little. The adverse publicity generated by the media intrigued me and I wanted to find out more. My initial plan of staying in Moscow for a few weeks turned into a few months, then a few years. Now, it has turned into a fascination with a region of the world that will last for the rest of my life.
Even after returning from Moscow in 2008 to the UK, I continued working with Russian companies, specifically in the area of Corporate Communications and Reputation Risk. All in all I have delivered communications projects into some of the largest Russian companies, primarily in the Energy, Mining and Financial Services Sectors. As Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) International in London I am at the cutting edge of the world of Corporate Communications. Yet through the work I do with Russian companies I am able to combine an area of expertise with a region I love. A perfect combination!
